I’m all for female empowerment and this day does just that!

Galentine’s Day is celebrated on 13th February (the day before the all so, and not really important Valentine’s day) and it’s all about “ladies celebrating ladies.”

When did it begin I hear you ask?

Well, interestingly it started in a sitcom!

In the US sitcom Parks and Recreation, the main character Leslie Knope first invented Galentine’s day almost a decade ago! Held the day before Valentine’s, it was seen as a chance for the female characters in the sitcom to get together, socialise, and celebrate “ovaries before brovaries.”

I’m all about empowering women, and nothing makes me happier than celebrating my gal pals, so I’m totally on board for Galentine’s Day!
